WHAT? (What did we learn?)

    What is Analog Circuit?

Analog Circuit is a circuit deals with a continuous, variable signal within electrical equipment that can convey information through changes in the current, voltage, resistance, or frequency.

We can use OHM's Law to find the current, voltage, and resistance between two points.

OHM's Law

        Some examples of electronic components.
Basic Electrical components (IC is for digital circuit)

        • Resistors - use to limit the flow of electrons through them by using a  conductive material.
            - Carbon Composition Resistor → Made of carbon dust or graphite paste, Low wattage.
            - Film or Cermet Resistor → Made from conductive metal oxide paste, Very low wattage.
            - Wire-wound Resistor → Metallic bodies for heatsink mounting, Very high wattage.
            - Semiconductor Resistor → High frequency/precision surface mount thin film technology

        • Variable Resistors - a resistor that electric resistance can be adjusted.
            - Potentiometer → resistive variable divider, typically use to generate voltage signal.
        • Capacitors - store an electrical charge on their plates.
            - Over-voltage → excessive voltage, current leak through dielectric in short circuit.
            - Reversed Polarity → reverse voltage, self-destruction of oxide layer and failure.
            - Over Temperature → excessive heat dries out electrolytic.
        • Inductors - use the relationship between magnetism and electricity to let electric current passing through the coil.
        • Power Sources - the origin of incoming electricity that supplies to the circuit.
        • Diode - a two-terminal electronic component that only conducts current in 1 direction.
            - LED (Light Emitted Diode) → Diode that can emit light when current flow.
            - Light Bulbs → electric light.
            - Actuator → convert energy to mechanical force.
        • Breadboard - use to design, build, and test circuit before finalizing the PCB.

    What is Digital Circuit?

Digital Circuit is a circuit that operates on different logic gates based on binary data to produce output.

Basic Logic Gates

    What is TinkerCAD?

TinkerCAD is a free web app that we can use for 3D design, circuit, and coding.

In TinkerCAD we have circuit mode to make a prototype circuit to let you know if there is any problem in your circuit and also you can try to code if you use Arduino or Micro:bit in your project.

SO WHAT? (Why is this important?)

This is important when you want to do any electronic project because if you don't know this basic you wouldn't know what is this equipment used for. And also when you don't make a prototype and try first maybe when you do the current would be so high that can break the board and it would waste your resoures.

NOW WHAT? (implications / reflections)

This class makes me know more about electronic components that maybe I have to use one day. And also I can try to make a circuit as many as I want for free. So, I can clearly learn in a likely carry-out way.
