WHAT? (What did we learn?)

    What is Storytelling?

It is about telling facts or stories to let your audience know something.

least effective : Novel → Comics → Scripts → Lecture → Conference : most effective

        Example :

This TedTalk is a good example of storytelling and an engineering step in the last week. Because he uses 7 engineering steps to solve the problem that is

            1. Define what is the problem - lions eat dad's cows.

            2. Try to research - why lions come to eat cows.

            3. Find the possible solutions - doing things that make lions think it has people.

            4. Design the solution - 1st → scarecrow, 2nd → torch, 3rd → blinks light

            5. Make a prototype

            6. Test your solution

            7. Evaluate your solution - 1st → good for the first day only

                                                       - 2nd → good so he knows they are afraid of moving light

                                                       - 3rd - a good solution

So, he chooses the last one for the solution.

But if he talks only about this it will be boring so he uses storytelling to make it better.

And this Tedtalk makes us know that good storytelling must be clear, easy to understand, and short. And the best way to be a good storyteller is to practice, practice, and practice. So, the professor let us use the Rose, Thorn, and Buds game to help us improve storytelling.

What is the Rose, Thorn, and Buds game?
This is the game where we have to talk about the story related to what to get from random.
        • Rose - Positive or good things that you met.
        • Thorn - Negative or bad things that you met.
        • Buds - what you hope or what you want to meet.

SO WHAT? (Why is this important?)

This is important when you have to present something to someone because you have to make them understand it clearly and also interested in your project.

NOW WHAT? (implications / reflections)

This class makes me think that I have to practice more storytelling to make better public speaking skills to let the audience can understand the message that I want to tell easily.
